Link up any jeans or pants that you've sewn for your tween in the last little while. We're all about sharing the love here and not only would we, but others as well, would love to see your go-to pants pattern for your tweens!
We'll keep this one open a little longer and would love for you to invite others to share as well. We've had some requests for great pants patterns and since we can't sew them all (nor do they all look good on our tweens), we thought it best to open it up for you to all share! So link a way!
Ladies who have rediscovered sewing in order to provide stylish and well-fitting clothes for their children. As our kids are growing up, they are not yet physically ready or mature enough for adult clothes, and thus adult patterns. So we are in search of fun, functional, and fashionable pre-teen patterns to share with you. Our primary goal is to assist in making sewing for tweens a fun experience for the sewer and the model!

A great Fall top (EYMM) shared by mimismom.
Hope there will be more to share next month and stay tuned as we have some fun things planned to celebrate our one year blogging anniversary coming up!

April Linky Party Wrap Up
Thank you all for linking up for April party! It is so much fun to see what everyone is creating for their tweens! There were some great tips and ideas as well as some new-to-me patterns! That's what is great about the link up...the sharing.
Here's what we picked to highlight this go around though:
Check out the great jackets and outfits made by the Amy, part of the duo over at Friends Stitched Together! She also links to a great new clothing line that has some classic looks for tweens.

And the second look you need to check out, is Stacy's shirt (from Land of K.A.) with fabric that she designed using a pretty cool technique. And if you read through her post, you'll find a great mantra...that's actually worthy of printing and hanging in your sewing room if you are sewing for tweens.

There you have it for this month...stay tuned for next months party and please pass on the word. It's through the sharing that we get a lot of our inspiration!

March Linky Party Wrap Up
It's time to wrap it up again, better late than never right?
This was the month of pants.
Over at Cathgrace, she had a lovely idea to make those pants last a little longer by adding a tuxedo stripe down the sides. It's about the tween years that my kids start out growing pants instead of wearing them out first, so this is a great way to extend the life.

And Cari Homemaker has a great jeans pattern she found in an Ottobre magazine. I love the contrasting top stitching and pocket linings...great way to make simple jeans your own.

Thanks again for linking up everyone and come back the first Wednesday next month to link up again. We can't wait to see some spring sewing!

February Linky Party Wrap Up
Thank you all for submitting! We loved seeing what you are making and would love to get the word out more, so feel free to pass it along.
Gray All Day made this very lovely outfit for her daughter. We both loved how it looked feminine yet tween appropriate.

And for our boys look, we have this impressive outfit from nest full of eggs. I'm kind of in love with that jacket and wondering if I could make one in my size. The look is great for a tween boy...enough personality, yet it's got the 'cool' factor (or is it sick, wicked, epic....I can't keep up).
Thank you again for submitting! All of the entries were so lovely...it was kind of a fancy/dressy heavy month, which was fun to see! Stop by next month and spread the word!

Linky Party Wrap Up
For this month's wrap up of the linky party, I just wanted to give a shout out to those that personalized their clothes, with their tween in mind. Three of the ones linked up, made simple articles of clothing, but made them "special" with their tween's personality coming through. Here they are:
Over at Sunny Sewing she made 3 custom-made t-shirts for her son using the freezer paper stencil technique.
This shirt is from DeVita...a Russian blogger, who makes some amazing stuff. On the back of the shirt is an appliqued dragon!
And over at Sonika Made, she was able to make her daughter's ideas come to life and add a little bling as well.
If you notice, they were all relatively simple articles of clothing that now have personality added to them to make them special for their tween. Great ideas!
As for great ideas, we would love it if you could spread the word! The linky party is all about sharing ideas so that we can all come away with something new to help in our endeavors to keep sewing for our tweens. So please pass it on...the more the merrier!

Linky Party Wrap Up
Um...the holidays kind of caught me off guard and threw off my blogging groove. I completely forgot to do the linky party wrap up last week, so better late than never. There were so many great looks shared...it's always so hard to just pick one.
Here are my (Sally) picks though:
This coat from Cari Homemaker caught my eye. Great classic look that is a little different than what you would find out in the retail world. If only I lived someplace cold enough to justify making a coat like this I would definitely give this one a shot.

For my girl's look, I chose this mash up of two patterns to create a wonderfully festive dress fit for the season. Christi over at Sewing In BeTween does a great job of keeping the fun and whimsy of children's patterns but makes them with a little more mature look fit for a tween.

Major Moma here ... My pick was this super cute military look by Stacy at the Land of K.A. This look is something my daughter would totally rock and I love that she also made a cool coordinating look for herself.

Thank you all so much for linking up! The next party is around the corner, so check back often and please continue to link up and show us what you are making!

It's That Time Again...Time to Show Us What You've Been Making
It's that time again to show us what you have been sewing for your tween. Last month, while the 4 entries we had were AWESOME, was a little sparse shall we say, so please pass on the word. I for one am inspired by what others are doing, so it's always good to share and show off!
That being said, please only link up:
1. Something you have created
2. For someone between the ages of 9 and 13
3. If you could please either link back to us or grab a button.
That's it! So come on and show us what you have been up to! The linky party will be open for 2 weeks and please be nice and visit those that link up with you:)

Linky Party Wrap Up
It's that time of the month that we get to pick a couple from the linky party to highlight. Thank you all for linking up! It's always fun to see what others are making!
Here are the highlights for this month:
We only had one boys look, but what a great staple! It looks so comfortable and it's great that you 'customize' it a little. Thanks Cindy for linking up!

And I (Sally) picked another comfy looking shirt for my girl's highlight. Again, just a comfy looking staple but so easy to make your daughter's own custom-made top. Thanks Tracy for sharing!
I (Major Moma) picked the swimsuit from Wombat Hole Sewing. I am always looking for cute and functional swimsuits for my daughter and this one certainly fit both criteria.
Thanks everyone for sharing these great projects. With cute outfits like these being made, our tweens will be glad that their mom still sews for them.

Linky Party Wrap
We're not sure what happened this month. You are either A) All very busy, B) Not sewing for your tween or C) We just got lost in the shuffle. Whatever it is, we hope you'll stop by next month (We are always going to do the first Wednesday of the month and go for 2 weeks) and share what you have been making for you tween. Also, it would be great to pass on the word, because we all get so much more when we share, right? I certainly am more inspired by what I see others sewing.
With that being said, we had a few great outfits linked so make sure you check them out!
Amy's daughter from over at Sews n Bows is totally rocking this maxi skirt. I just love her styling flare!

And Kristi shared a great outfit,(sorry, I couldn't get the picture posted), but also mentioned a book that is now on my "To Buy" list. Has anyone else heard of 'Sewing Clothes Kids Love'? Sounds like it might be just the thing for sewing with tweens!
And that is a wrap! Make sure you stop by next month and share what you have been making!

It's Time to Party--October is Here and It is Time to Link Up
It's time to share again and we can't wait to see what you have been creating for your tweens!
So go ahead and link up! Just make sure that it is:
1. Something you have made--clothing or accessory
2. It was made for someone between the ages of 9 and 13
3. And if you would, could you please either mention with a link that you are taking part in our linky party or grab a button, we would be very grateful!
The party will be open for 2 weeks and then we will each pick a boy's and girl's look that has inspired us! So link away...we can't wait to see what Fall Fashion you've been making!

Linky Party Round Up
It was so much fun to see what you have been up to when it comes to sewing for tweens! Wow, are you guys the creative, industrious bunch! So many great ideas and so much talent. We here at Sew Cool are each going to chose a girl and boy look...but you guys make it so hard. They were all great looks and each added to my file in my brain of what to or how to sew for my tween.
So here are my picks...but really I could have picked any of them and because they were all so great.
Stacy from the Land of KA shared her flamingo dress and this one caught my eye because it epitomizes the tween years and the struggle that is sewing for a tween, namely something a little more grown up but still catches that youthful, childlike quality that they aren't quite ready to give up.
And this boy's look from sew a straight line, so stylish and classy looking...it makes me kind of sad that my boys are into their teenage years, but put the idea into my mind that maybe I could still sew dress pants for them.
Major Moma here, it is now my turn to pick my favorites and I have to second what Sally has said. You guys are making some great tween cloths! I see all these women making cute clothes for their toddlers and I just think, how those skills will lead to some pretty awesome tween clothes in a few years. And for you ladies ... your time has come.
My girl pick is our only accessory and was made by Gina's Craft Corner. I just think these cuff bracelets are so fun and could really be made to fit the personality of just about any girl.
And my boy pick was one that kept coming back to my mind made by Rachel of Nest Full of Eggs. I just love how a simply t-shirt turned rock-n-roll by adding a zipper embelishment.
